Donald understands how the backend works and produced clear IA and great designs based on the user testing. He’s an absolute asset and was a safe pair of hands in what was a huge and very successful project.
As part of their major on-line restructuring, Cornwall Council asked for a new front-end design for the web site which would give clear and intuitive access to the vast array of new content and transactional services available to the citizens of Cornwall.
Through a number of iterative wireframing exercises and useability tests, an interface was designed that could allow the public to ‘personalise’ their on-line experience with the Council by specifying relevant content throughout various key pages on the site. ‘Modules’ of content and services could be switched on and off, moved around the page and edited.
The final design work was coded into HTML templates for integration with the CMS by the Council’s external IT / Development company.

Results
On-line conversions on the new site also increased by 27%.
Since launch of the new site, Cornwall Council website has twice ranked No. 8 and No. 10 based on market share of visits among all UK websites in the Hitwise 'Government - Local Industry' category.
And the web site is still achieving recognition, being awarded 4 star status from web surveyors and IT professional body Socitm in 2015. Listed as one of the top 20 council websites in the country; in the top 5 of Unitary websites and one of the most used websites in the UK.
